    Pete the Plumber rides the Water Cycle!* (Previously Ghost Jam)

    *Due to unforeseen circumstances the Ghost Jam event previously schedule for this time has been changed. Come along and enjoy Pete the Plumber!
     
    Pete has a pet drop of water, Droppo, which he follows around the Water Cycle, finding and making wonderful music through the Evaporation/Condensation/Precipitation journey. Pete introduces a fascinating array of simple, enchanting instruments made from all types of pipes, hoses and gloves, to accompany the story of water.

    Each week:
    An interpreter will be present at each session. The class will be interpreted into Macedonian, and your questions will be translated to English.
    Computers and/or iPads will be provided for you to use during this session, however if you have your own device please bring it with you.
    This program is aimed at seniors (60 years & over). This program is a partnership between the Victorian Seniors Card Program and Telstra.

    Greek Cafes and Milk Bars of Australia

    In an Australia we still remember, the Greek café or milk bar was open all hours, 7 days a week. They played a part in transforming Australian popular culture; influencing the eating, social and cultural habits of Australians from the very start of the twentieth century.

    Historian Leonard Janiszewski and photographer Effy Alexakis offer a stunning visual and anecdotal account of the influence of Greek migration with a focus on Greek eateries in their book Greek Cafes and Milk Bars of Australia.

    Come along to hear about the stories, the style and the ethos that changed who we are and how we think about ourselves.
