    We've been running second-hand book sales in partnership with the Reservoir Scouts for thirteen years and they are a fantastic way to stock up your home library without spending a fortune.

    $2.00 for hardbacks

    Have you ever had a great idea for a T.V. show?

    Meet John Richards, director and co-writer of ABC 1's six part comedy series Outland.

    John will discuss the peaks and pitfalls of writing for TV, and the long process of bringing Outland to the small screen.  It's a great opportunity to get some tips from someone in the know about how to bring your own ideas to life!

    Songs and rhymes provide many lifelong benefits to help your child with their language and develop an appreciation for rhyme and rhythm.

    Knitters Unite!

    The Love 2 Read Blanket is back by popular demand...

    We are celebrating the National Year of Reading by combining two great joys; the magic of literature and the pleasure of knitting.

    Bring along your knitting needles (4mm) and wool (8 ply) and listen to a librarian read aloud as you knit a square to contribute to our Love 2 Read blanket which will be donated to the Save the Children Campaign.

    The Vampire Metaphor

    Pop culture is saturated with vampire characters.  From the incredibly popular Sookie Stackhouse novels which inspired the equally popular True Blood TV series, to the teen fiction sensation that was the Twilight saga, vampires feature in countless books, films and songs. 

    Narrelle Harris (who has authored her own vampire novel, The Opposite of Life) will talk about the history of the vampire novel and the different metaphors vampires present in fiction.

    Celebrate Book Week with Susannah McFarlane, the author of several blockbuster series for kids including EJ12 Girl Hero featuring Emma Jacks, special agent and code-cracker, and Boy vs Beast, the adventures of border guard and beast battler Kai Masters.

    Fairfield Books will be selling Susannah's books on the day so you can get a signed copy of your favourite books.

    This event is for kids aged 5 - 12 years and children must be supervised by an adult.
