  • Wang Zheng Ting

    Wang Zheng Ting, from the Chinese Music Ensemble, will play the intriguing sheng (Chinese mouth organ). 

    Enjoy his music while browsing through a selection of our new Chinese DVDs, CDs and books, available for loan for the first time at this event.

  • Book Sale

    When: 7 Nov 2009, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
    Location: Reservoir Scout Hall, Edwardes Lake Park, Reservoir

    Stock up your home library without spending a fortune. There's a huge variety of secondhand books for $1 or less.

    Darebin Libraries in partnership with Reservoir Scouts.

  • Shake, Rattle and Rhyme

    When: Occurs from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM every 2 weeks on Monday, from 12 Oct 2009 until 8 Dec 2009
    Location: Preston Library

    Have fun with your baby and remember songs, finger plays and rhymes from your childhood.

    Songs and rhymes provide many lifelong benefits to help your child with their language and develop an appreciation for rhyme and rhythm.

    For children aged 0 - 2 years.

    Location: Northcote Library

    Babytalk is an introduction to the library and the many benefits and joys of reading for parents with new babies.  Read on for more information.

    The Living Books at this month's Living Libraries event provide a fascinating combination of talents and life experiences and include a writer, a refugee and international student, a professional organiser and T.V. presenter and more.   • Chinese Storytime

    When: 13 Nov 2009, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM
    Location: Preston Library

    Bring your preschool children along to our storytime sessions conducted in Mandarin Chinese.  There will be stories, rhymes and songs presented by our Chinese Storyteller, Ligia. Each session will be followed by a craft or play activity.
