Entries must be passionate and personal - not marketing hype! We want to understand how you were moved, overcome with laughter, provoked or enlightened. Free books available while stocks last. Review entry forms and free books available at Preston, Northcote and Reservoir Libraries only.

Conditions of entry
• Reviews must be for an adult fiction or non fiction book which Darebin Libraries currently has holdings of;
• Reviews must be 25 words or more and meet the criteria of being passionate and personal, as judged by Darebin Libraries staff;
• Entrants give permission for their review to be added to the Darebin Libraries website including their first name and the library where it was lodged;
• Entrants must be 16 years or over;
• Free books available whilst stocks last;
• One free book per customer.

Narrelle will talk about the triumphs and pitfalls of creating a fantasy universe, and how she combined fantastic characters with a real city. Narrelle will also share the books and authors who have influenced her writing and invite readers to talk about their favourite fantasy, crime or vampire romance novel.

The Opposite of Life has been praised for its vivid description of Melbourne, its realistic characters, and the use of real locations alongside a shadowy subculture of modern-day vampires. This intriguing novel involves vampires that defy the usual stereotypes and come up against Lissa, the heroine who's also a librarian!
